A perfect storm is heading towards Sydney for The Championships in April.

It is not the usual storm that invariably hits Randwick on its biggest day but this one has three fronts. Gai Waterhouse, Damien Oliver and Melbourne Cup winner Fiorente.

It has been raging since the first Tuesday in November last year and is only picking up force and could be ready to go worldwide.

Fiorente has combined two of the most potent forces in racing – Hall of Famers Oliver and Waterhouse – and wreaked havoc on bookmakers.

It is estimated that he has taken more than $25 million out of the bookies’ bags and even got a mention in global betting giant Paddy Power's results last week as a factor in the company recording only a small jump in profit.
