David Hayes was born into racing royalty as the son of the great Colin Hayes of Lindsay Park fame.  David took over the training operation in 1990-91 t 28 and set a world record of six Group winners in a day at Flemington on Derby Day that year.  He dominated the Melbourne and Adelaide trainers’ titles.  In 1996 he moved to Hong Kong and in nine seasons there won two trainers’ premierships before returning to Lindsay Park.  David has trained more than 2800 winners, including 78 Group One, and was the youngest trainer inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame in 2008.
